A CPA who wants to know your business
I'm Jeffrey Purtee, a CPA in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. I enjoy working with business owners who want more than someone to keep the books and file the tax returns. I want to understand your business well enough to provide useful guidance when you need it.
I started my accounting career in bookkeeping and tax, working with small businesses across a variety of industries. That foundation taught me how important accurate financial information is—but also that good accounting should lead to better conversations and better decisions.
Today, my work starts with accurate bookkeeping and tax preparation. From there, the relationship can grow based on what your business needs. That may mean proactive tax planning throughout the year or having someone to talk through an important decision before you make it.
Why communication matters
I encourage my clients to reach out when something comes up. Buying a vehicle, hiring an employee, taking a distribution, making a large purchase, or changing direction in the business can all have financial or tax consequences.
Sometimes a short conversation beforehand can prevent a much more difficult conversation later.
You still run the business—you just don't have to do it alone.
A little about me
I'm a native of the Nashville area and earned my bachelor's degree in Business Finance from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and my master's degree in Accounting from Strayer University. I became a CPA in 2018 and later opened Purtee CPA.
Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Laura, and our family. When I'm not working, you'll often find me outside, working on a project, or spending time with family and friends.
If you're looking for a CPA who wants to understand your business and be part of the conversation, I'd love to have a conversation.
